The final of the football league took place on Wednesday October 19 between Shane Heffernan’s team and Noah Waugh Bacchus’s team. Despite playing against the wind in the first half Noah’ team started well and were leading at half time by 1 -4 to no score. Jamie Forry scored a goal and Cathal Ryan a point for Shane’s team but scores from Cian Farragher McCormack, Cara Higgins and Noah finished off the game as a contest. The final score was 3 – 6 to 1 – 1.

Soccer league 2016
The league has reached the semi- finals stage. Cian’s and Antonio’s teams both finished on 7 points and had to have a play off to decide who would go into the semi – final and who would be eliminated. The game resulted in a win for Cian’s team and his team are now in the semi’s. This is the final positions of the teams, Shane’ on 16, Cathal on 15, Max on 13 and Cian and Antonio on 7.
The semi- finals pairings are Shane v Cian and Cathal v Max . The games will take place after Christmas , le cúnamh Dé .
The final between Cathal Ryan’s team and Cian Farragher McCormack’s took place on Jan 17th. It was a close uncompromising game It was 0 – 0 at half time. Early in the second half Mateusz scored a great goal for Cian’s team. Not long after Cian himself scored. Towards the end Ross scored for Cathal’s team to leave the final score 2 – 1.
Girls Soccer Final Jan. 2017
The final of the girls soccer league final took place on Jan. 19th between Cara Higgins’ and Sarah Mannion’s teams. It was a beautiful day for the occasion . Cara’s team was the first to score from a throw in early in the second half. This was cancelled out shortly afterwards by a goal from Zoe Clarke. Cara scored to regain the lead and as time was running out Eimear Kelly scored the equiliser to send the game into extra time.There was no score in the first period of extra time and as the game was heading for penalties Sarah Mannion released a great to strike to win the game.

Gardenfield v Barnaderg
On Tuesday Jan. 20th we had a challenge match with Barnaderg. It took place in Barnaderg.It was a lovely day for a game. From the start Gardenfield were on the ascendancy and it did not take them long to score a few goals. For most of the first half the game was played in the Barnaderg half. Towards the end of the first half Barnaderg scored a goal.The second half was much the same as Gardenfield ran out easy winners. We like to thank Barnaderg for the sporting game and the parents of Dean Morrin, Cathal Ryan, Shane Cleary and Conor Noone for providing transport.
